Obamacare: Why Didn’t They Shut It Down? Because Nothing…

angry-john-mccainAnyone who has tracked their congressional rep or senator for even five years after his or her first election, should not be confused as to why so many Republicans scramble to the left every time someone threatens sudden death by New York Times.

“Before I came Washington”; “I am a still Reagan conservative“; “The GOP has never been more unified as a party”; “Because thank you, gotta go… .”

After bitching nonstop for five years about Obama leading from behind, these guys provide the stellar schematic for leadership?

Short answer: Been to American Cross Roads, picked up my RINO button. And the establishment media got there first.

Look at Byron York’s slug in Washington Examiner today:

From Bachmann, a persuasive case for why many Republicans don’t fear a shutdown

Bachman via York:

“I was looking at some of the history,” Bachmann continued. “When the Republicans did the slowdown in ’95, they did two, one in November and then one in December. What they were fighting over, the first one, was getting the budget to balance in seven years. And the second one was over Bill Clinton trying to do a sleight of hand — he wanted to use Office of Management and Budget numbers versus Congressional Budget Office numbers. So the Republicans shut the joint down over using OMB numbers over the CBO. My, how times have changed. We’re considered radical to have a ten-year balance under Paul Ryan. We’re going to shut the government down under OMB versus CBO? That’s what they did then. Now, in my opinion, I don’t think I’d be shutting the government down over that.”

…”We were there 17 times,” she said. “Five times under Jimmy Carter they did a government shutdown. Eight times under Reagan — twice in October before the 1984 landslide. And they didn’t worry about it, they just did it.”

But even then, House Republicans did not suffer terrible consequences, as Bachmann and others point out. After the shutdowns, the GOP was re-elected to control of the House in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2004 before losing in 2006.

Prepare, Bryon; this may be offensive:

Oh duh!

How astute. York conveniently overlooks 40 years of congressional history, until the GOP folded and John Boehner proffered his prearranged deal with Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell to fail valiantly? Boehner struggles to save the day!

Okay, that was my bad on Byron; he has been fairer than most.

But a dope addict’s mother could not be a better enabler than the so-called conservative Washington media in helping RINOs uphold a law that will end America as we know it. Cliché I know, but it will economically destroy us and very shortly.

But but but… it will collapse under its own weight!

Caption this: When in the history of modern entitlement legislation has a bad government program ever ended itself?

Final Note: To John McCain and Lindsey Graham: Regular Right Guy will forever be grateful for your selfless military sacrifice and service. That is not a crass irreverent snipe; I mean every word of it.

But your heroic service did not give you a license to sell us out now.

You rat bastards.

1988-89 The Catastrophic care act. The killer act was the seniors beating on then Senator Dan Rostenkowski’s armored car. His career and the entitlement were killed shortly thereafter. But your phraseology is right the don’t end they have to be killed.
